This cathedral is also known as the International Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage. It is a Black Madonna, a 17th-century Roman Catholic wooden image of Mary, the mother of Jesus, venerated in the Philippines. Thus, it is one of the most popular faith tourism destinations for travelers. It is just fitting to have your vehicle receive protection and, at the same time, show gratitude for the provision.
Moreover, since Antipolo City is less than an hour away from Metro Manila, especially if you are coming from cities such as Quezon City, Marikina City, and Pasig City, it makes for a convenient location.
Even if you are located in other places in Rizal, like us in San Mateo, or if you are from cities a little farther like Makati City and Paranaque, it is still a great option for motorcycle car blessing because it is near Manila.
In short, if you do not have the time to have your motorcycle or car blessed in provinces such as in Manaoag Church in Pangasinan or even in Pedre Pio in Batangas, and Kamay ni Hesus in Lucban, Antipolo is the perfect choice.
How Do I Get My Car Blessed in Antipolo Church?
If it is your first time to have your car or motorcycle blessed in Antipolo Cathedral, you can refer to these steps:
Go to Antipolo Cathedral. Park your motorcycle. Go to the designated area for car and motorcycle blessing. The guards will point the specific area.
Register your vehicle. Once done with parking, proceed to the Cathedral Office or the Oficin De La Catedral located on the left side of the church to register.
Give donation. Once done with registration, the church staff will ask for a donation to the church at any amount. You will be given an acknowledgment receipt and a couple of prayer cards.
Blessing. Once all is settled, the priest will proceed with prayers and the blessing of holy water. For some, they start their vehicle’s engine and open their storage compartments, saddle bags, and top boxes during the blessing.
Take pictures. Of course, what other way to remember this special day than to post for photos? While you can do-it-yourself with your mobile phones, there are a couple of church staff who can take your photos in front of the church with their cameras and have them printed immediately. They don their IDs so you will know that they are accredited by the church. The fee is Php50 per photo.

Antipolo Car Blessing: Tips and Notes for First Timers
Here are some of our observations and a few tips if you plan to go here for a motorcycle and bike blessing.
- Go on Weekdays. If you want to avoid too much crowd, have your vehicle blessed on a weekday. From our experience, the whole blessing process was only 20 minutes or less. There’s no long queue upon registration and looking for parking was swift.
- Picture-taking. It’s nice to have a memorabilia of this day but note that having your pictures taken by the photographers in the church is not mandatory. We personally loved our photos so I bought everything for Php250. 🙂
- Clean Comfort Room. Can I just say that Antipolo Cathedral’s CR is so clean?! It’s well-lit and has dedicated staff maintaining the area. It also has a lounge where you can rest for a while.
- Research. While Antipolo Cathedral accepts walk-ins for car and motorcycle blessings, it is still best to look for resources online, such as Antipolo Cathedral’s Facebook Page for the latest updates first before you go.
