This article about Beachfront Resort in Casiguran, Aurora: Nonato Beach Resort is based on our firsthand experience. Sharing our genuine experience aims to help fellow adventurers, but remember, everyone’s perspective is unique and friendly, so your journey might bring different insights.
A long ride to Casiguran, Aurora deserves a relaxed overnight stay. A great way to making this happen is none other than discovering a beachfront resort that’ll provide you with much-needed rest, giving you just the right energy for another day on the road.
For our first time in Casiguran, a coastal town at the far east of Aurora Province, we were able to book a room at Nonato Beach Resort, a newly-opened resort that is one of the resorts lined along the popular Casapsapan Beach.
Nonato Beach Resort in Casiguran, Aurora: How to Get There
Casapsapan Beach is about 127 kilometers from Baler, Aurora, or roughly 2 1/2 hours via Baler-Casiguran Road. If you are coming from Manila, you must allot approximately 7 hours of driving.
Located in Brgy. Culat, Casiguran, Aurora, and Nonato Beach Resort offer clean cabins, scenic beachside views, and good food, topped with commendable staff services, which made our stay a restful one.
Its location can be easily seen—just at the gateway of the long stretch of resorts in the area.
Note that there is such a place as the Original Casapsapan Beach. You can take a 10-minute walk from Nonato Beach Resort to the original Casapsapan Beach to enjoy the white sand and calm beach that the place is mostly popular for. You’ll also find other beach resorts in the area for large group of campers and more affordable fan rooms and kubo accommodation.
Meanwhile, the beachfront of the Nonato Beach Resort also offers a different kind of experience.
The sand is more on the gray side, the waves are just right for a kid-friendly swim, and you’ll see at the far left side a line of colorful fishing boats docked.
If you want to score fresh seafood, you can easily walk towards these boats early morning and get the best deals straight from fishermen.
If you are looking for accommodation that is far from a large group of campers and just a few guests, then I think you’ll like this resort.
Nonato Beach Resort Accommodations and Amenities
Here are some of the reasons why we love this resort for its unassuming vibe yet satisfactory experience.
A-Frame Cabins
Because we have been riding for hours, one of our non-negotiables are comfortable accommodation. Thus, we looked for accommodation with aircon.
It was our first time to sleep in an air-conditioned A-frame cabin, and it did not disappoint. For only 2, 500 per night, it can accommodate up to 4 adults and 2 kids. For me, it is just right for 2-3 pax.
It is spacious, has comfortable foams and pillows, and most importantly, it has an aircon. I learned from a frequent visitor that this is the only resort with an aircon (as of September 2023).
It also has a tiny desk drawer for some important stuff you can store.
Tent Pitching
If you are looking where to camp in Casiguran, Aurora, this place is also an ideal pitching area.
If given the chance, we can opt for camping. However, we prefer to have our tent than to rent.
Activities
While we did not do many activities in the resort when we stayed there, save for a couple of hours of beach bumming with coffee and mango shake, we learned that there are many things to do in Casiguran, Aurora, which they can also offer.
Here are some of the activities you can try:
● Beach volleyball
● Boating
● Island hopping
● Videoke
You may also have a side trip to a number of destinations in Casiguran.
Nonato Beach Resort Entrance Fees
There is an entrance fee at Nonato Beach Resort. The entrance fee for adults is Php 50.00.
- Kids aged 12 years and below is Php25.
- 5 years and below – FREE
Food
A complimentary breakfast for TWO comes with the booking of the cabin.
For lunch and dinner, they offer paluto services. We ordered chopsuey topped with shrimps and pork as well as buttered shrimp.
Note that if you did not bring your own food and you intend to avail of their paluto services, you need to tell them beforehand your choice of food so that they can prepare.
The market is a bit far from the beach. You can buy food from their menu as well, which consists of silog meals, pancit, etc. However, these are subject to availability.
We personally recommend for their paluto services because the food was great—the staff and the head cook is also approachable. I can say they go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable.
Additionally, you can bring your own food that you can cook in their common kitchen area, which is quite spacious and is just a few steps from the beach.
Notes for First-timers
Here are some notes and take ways that we’d like to share so you can also have a great time in this place.
Clean toilet and bath. While the rest rooms are for common use, it is notably clean all the time, with a staff maintaining it all throughout the day.
Wifi zone. There is no signal for Smart and Globe here yet but they have free wifi access which is pretty cool for a remote beach area. decent in common areas near the beach.
We actually was able to catch up on some work during our stay. You can check your emails and social media without the lag.
Expansion of accommodation. There was an ongoing construction of a 2-storey building in the resort (as of September 2023). The staff mentioned that these are for additional room accommodations. Be sure to message them on Facebook for confirmation.
Great service
We just love how the staff treated the guests like VIPs, so much that it deserved this separate section just to highlight them.
